Who the programme is for

The Authentic Careers Content (ACC) Contributor programme brings together students, graduates, early‑career professionals and industry experts to create authentic careers content. Our aim is to spotlight real experiences and practical insights that help learners navigate job searching, early work life, and the transition from study to employment.

We produce thoughtfully planned, unscripted videos, including Q&A panels, video podcasts and graduate‑led discussions. Contributors don’t need any filming experience; our friendly production team guides the conversation so it feels relaxed, structured, and supportive.

For students and graduates, it’s a relaxed, supportive way to talk about real experiences while building a personal brand with professionally produced content

For universities and employers, this is an opportunity to highlight your commitment to employability, showcase diverse voices, and feature your students, graduates or experts in professionally produced content viewed by thousands of learners.

For contributors, it’s a chance to share their story, build their personal brand, and gain high‑quality media assets for their own channels.

Apply for the programme

To express interest, potential contributors can complete a short application form so we can collect the information required for eligibility checks, scheduling, and onboarding.

Please complete the relevant form below.

After you submit the form, we take the following steps.

  1. Our team reviews the information.

  2. We contact contributors who are a good fit for upcoming filming dates.

  3. Onboarding is completed before any filming is scheduled.

What to expect on the day

What will contributors be asked to do?

A relaxed, unscripted conversation guided by our production team. No scripts, no memorising, and no pressure. We plan the topics with contributors beforehand, so they feel confident and ready.

How long does filming take?

Typically, a full day from 9 am to 5 pm, excluding travel.

What should contributors wear?

Smart‑casual or whatever feels comfortable. We just ask that you avoid large logos, patterns, or heavily branded clothing unless approved. It’s also better to avoid bright red or green.

Will contributors receive the final clips?

The contributors can request their headshot photos, BTS photos, and the promo as well as selected clips to use. We simply ask that you credit The Access Group UK.

Likely filming locations

Where does filming usually take place?

Filming may take place in the following spaces.

  • University spaces, workplace environments (offices, breakout spaces) or studios/hired filming locations.

  • Occasionally outdoor or public campus spaces, if appropriate.

Who arranges the location?

Our production team arranges filming locations in collaboration with the university or employer partner.

Are contributors expected to travel?

Yes, but travel expenses are covered. We will endeavour to avoid locations that are too far from where you live/work.

Right to Work in the UK

Do contributors need the right to work in the UK?

Yes, contributors must have the legal right to undertake paid work in the UK.

Those using student visas must ensure their visa permits paid work, including freelancing or invoicing as a supplier.

Students must follow visa restrictions, such as weekly working hour limits during term time, and confirm that the work does not fall under a prohibited category.

What can be provided as proof of the right to work in the UK?

Proof of right to work includes, but is not limited to the following.

  • A valid UK or Irish passport.

  • A Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).

  • Pre‑settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme.

  • A valid visa share code confirming eligibility for paid work.

  • Further details are available on the Citizens Advice website.

Onboarding

What onboarding steps are required before filming?

Before we schedule any filming, contributors complete the full onboarding process, including the following steps. Once you finish these steps, filming can begin.

  • Sign the contract (via DocuSign).

  • Sign the NDA.

  • Complete the Supplier Information Form so you can be set up as a registered supplier in our system.

  • Complete the right‑to‑work check, where applicable.

  • Sign the consent form for filming.

How long does onboarding take?

The onboarding timeline can vary, depending mostly on how quickly contributors return the required documents.

  • After we send the contract, NDA, and Supplier Information Form, contributors can usually complete everything within 1–3 days if they respond promptly.

  • Once we receive all completed forms and signed documents, we process the supplier setup internally, which typically takes about a week.

The overall onboarding time depends mainly on how quickly the contributor signs and submits the documents.

Can filming go ahead if all documents aren't completed in advance?

No, we cannot proceed with filming if any of the elements listed above aren’t signed or complete on time.

Fees and expenses

Is this a paid opportunity?

Yes. Contributors receive a fee for taking part.

Are travel expenses covered?

Yes. Reasonable travel costs are reimbursed after an estimate is agreed with The Access Group UK.

How do contributors claim expenses?

Contributors can claim expenses once they have been agreed by submitting the following.

  • An invoice that includes the expense amount(s).

  • Receipts or proof of payment for each expense they are claiming.

All expense claims should be sent to [email protected] so the Finance team can review and process them.

📌 Note: Expenses will only be reimbursed if they have been discussed and approved in advance.

Do contributors need to pay tax on their fee?

Contributors are responsible for declaring this income to HMRC. This is treated as self‑employed income unless you work for an organisation and it processes it differently.

Please review the government guidance on paying tax on self‑employed income.

Invoicing

How do contributors invoice for their fee?

Contributors need to submit an invoice including the following details.

  • Full name

  • Address

  • Email

  • Bank details

  • Date of invoice

  • Description of work that includes date of filming (e.g., “Filming contribution for Access Group careers content on 02/10/2025”)

  • Fee amount

  • VAT if applicable

  • Any expenses being claimed

  • Due date for the payment of the invoice

Where should invoices be sent?

All invoices should be sent to [email protected].

When will payment be made after invoicing?

Payment is made around 30 days after the invoice is received. Our contract sets out our payment terms.

Payment

How will contributors be paid?

Payment is made via BACS bank transfer.

Can contributors be paid without an invoice?

No, our finance team requires an invoice for each payment. The contract alone is not enough for them to process the payments, so we need you to send us an invoice after the shoot.

Consent and usage

How will the footage be used?

Footage may appear in the following places.

  • The Access Group UK products.

  • Social media.

  • Employer/university channels (if relevant).

  • Promotional materials.

Please see the contract for more details.

Can contributors withdraw consent?

Once contributors have signed the contract and the consent form, they legally grant The Access Group the rights to use the recorded material.

Because this permission is contractually agreed, contributors cannot withdraw consent after signing.
